Living the Dream Year 3 Day 219 – Day 4 of 4-night Bahamas and Perfect Day on Allure of the Seas (Day 6 of 17-day Caribbean vacation). Coco Cay, Bahamas

Year 3 Day 219 – “Living the Dream”. Thursday, 12/07/2023. Day 4 of 4-night Bahamas and Perfect Day on Allure of the Seas (Day 6 of 17-day Caribbean vacation). Last night was Italian night for dining in the main dining room. The Lasagna was gross. It is a lot of meat in tomato sauce with one overcooked Lasagna noodle on top. Very gross. I did hear that it is gross on Adventure of the Seas also. I am not ordering it next week on Italian night. We are at Coco Cay, Bahamas today. We pulled into the dock at 7am. Adventure of the Seas is already docked. We will be getting on that ship tomorrow when we get off the Allure of the Seas in Port Canaveral. It is much smaller than the ship we are on.

We had breakfast in the Solarium Bistro which is a scaled down version of the Windjammer Buffet. It is much calmer and nicer to eat there. We usually do eat breakfast in the Solarium Bistro on most cruises.

We departed the ship a little after 8am and headed to Chill Beach. First we had to have a picture taken by the professional photographers.

At the beach, we managed to find front row water seats next to a nice woman from South Carolina. She is on the Adventure of the Seas and says it is a little dated. We spent two hours yakking like long lost friends. It is very windy, overcast and cool. The sun would make brief appearances, but it remained cool and windy the rest if the day. I wore a hoodie all day and we sat under towels to keep warm. We never even attempted to dip our toes in the water.

Royal Caribbean makes Coco Cay’s beaches accessible to everyone. They have these chairs for people who can’t navigate the sand.

We had lunch on the island. They have bud light beer machines there. You swipe your sea pass card/ room key and for seven dollars you get beer to fill a cup from the spout. Never saw that before. We didn’t try it though. More automation!

The buffet food was okay and the couple we sat with from North Carolina were nice to talk with. They were from North Carolina. The flowers are gorgeous along the pathways on our walk back to the ship.

Near Harbor Beach we saw these seed like things in some trees. Are they Coconuts? No one could answer the question including the employee with the shirt saying Ask me anything. He did say two other guests asked him the same question. I say it is a sign he should take the initiative and learn the answer.

Arriving back to the ship the chefs are in the process of setting up a huge gingerbread house display.

Then later the Anchos Aweigh Parade was being performed. Cute parade, I would recommend making a point to see it at least once. Click here if you want to see a video of the parade from another trip. Living the Dream Year 3 Day 142 – Day 1 of nine-night Canada and New England Cruise – Leaving Jenna’s and boarding Liberty of the Seas in Bayonne, NJ – Deestimes – Make every step of the journey count

Here’s the Bon Voyage Dinner you can expect the last night of a Royal Caribbean Dinner. They also had a special Hanukkah meal. I had the Autumn Turkey Dinner. Not a choice I would make again. Others at the table had the Hanukkah special and they said it was fantastic.

It is time to pack up, we are leaving the ship in the morning.

Today’s Cruise Compass. I had to wrestle it from the towel guy in my bed. He was enjoying reading it.

Here’s a link to today’s Amazon recommendation: https://amzn.to/3t4So73 This is a portable scale. I use it every day at home and take it in my suitcase whenever I travel. I try to keep track of my weight even on vacation. It is great. I guess the best thing to say is if it broke today I would be ordering one immediately.
