Year 3 Day 220- “Living the Dream”. Friday, 12/08/2023. Day 5 of 4-night Bahamas cruise on Allure of the Seas. Disembarking in Cape Canaveral, Day 1 of 8 night Eastern Caribbean cruise on Adventure of the Seas. (Day 7 of 17-day Caribbean vacation). We are at the Windjammer Buffet eating breakfast at 6am.
The music is very loud, and the children all seem to be crying this morning. I think they are trying to get you out quickly by blasting the MUSIC! Had the best fried eggs though. At 6:45am they announce anyone carrying their luggage off can depart the ship. We are luggage tag 23 and our scheduled time is 8am. We left Allure of the Seas and was at Walmart by 9:45am. The parking lot charged a late fee of $18.19. The total therefore was $73.76 originally and then this additional late fee was charged making it 91.95 for a 4-night cruise.
After a quick Walmart stop, we took a little ride and then proceeded to terminal 5 to board Adventure of the Seas around 10:30 am. We dropped off our luggage, parked in the parking garage, went through customs, checked in, did our muster station check in, and were in the Windjammer Buffet by 11:30am. Parking cost $163.71 for this eight-night cruise. We are in the parking garage this time.
There is Christmas music playing in this Windjammer.
On Allure they said they do not play Christmas music in the Windjammer. Every ship is different, and it all depends on the captain. I love this ship so much better than Allure so far. The biggest difference is the layout of the Windjammer Buffet food station. We visited the Crown Lounge on deck 14 in the afternoon for coffee. The bar on deck 14 was renamed at some point to the Blue Moon. It used to be the Royal Crown Lounge. We will travel 830 miles to our first stop of Labadee, Haiti. The seas are five feet high, and the wind is 23 mph. Here’s a video of deck 14.
We received two bottles of wine in our room for being Diamond Plus. They gave us Shiraz instead of what we normally would get.
At dinner we sat with three other couples. The service was slow and disorganized, and the food was not cooked as ordered. Steaks were either over cooked or under cooked. After dinner we went to the casino. I take back liking this ship, the casino is better on Allure. Better machines, but it was a straight steal for both of us.
