Year 2 Day 270 – “Living the Dream”. Monday, 1/23/2023. Day 2 of 14-night Wonder of the Seas Caribbean Cruise. Last night we were really cruising through the water, and you didn’t even realize you were on a ship. This ship does not move at all. I think it is so big it would take a huge wave to feel any motion at all. The ship is a mad house in the Windjammer buffet this morning at 7am. This is way more crowded than I want. So far on day 2. Wonder of the Seas is my least favorite ship. Today we are at CocoCay, Bahamas along with Odyssey of the Seas.

Odyssey is a Quantum class ship. We are on an Oasis size ship. The Oasis ships are perfect for families. We like the Quantum size ships better though. This morning we are out on Chill beach early. That is the first beach to the left after you get off the pier. You cross over a bridge, and you will see Oasis Harbour is to the right with a Mermaid watching you.

If you look to the left on that bridge, you will see the ships and probably a lot of Seagulls.

The water is ice cold, but the air temperature is perfect at 76 degrees.

Our view from Chill Beach is of the Norwegian Encore ship and Norwegian’s private Island,

Great Stirrup Cay.

That island is 268 acres and guests are tendered in. Our island is 125 acres and ships dock here. The lunch buffet on the island was excellent with a fantastic selection of hot and cold food. They had a huge salad bar, some sandwiches, a taco bar with all the fixings, plenty of fruits and desserts, and of course hamburgers and hotdogs. Hard to not overeat here. We found the food being served on the island to be actually better than what they served yesterday on the ship for lunch.

They had huge colorful tarps over the picnic tables. I think they were to protect you from the seagulls. They were walking all over it.

It is a lovely day to walk around Royal Caribbean’s Island and take some pictures. On the island there are some locals selling their wares in little bungalow shops. The prices are a little bit expensive. A tropical men’s shirt was $40.00. I think that is a little bit expensive. They were very nice though.

The rest rooms are really nice and clean and situated conveniently in different spots on the island.

The water park on the Island is an extra charge. We have not done it. Steve likes water slides. I do not. The huge water slide you see in the picture is much different than other water slides. You stand there and they open it up and you go. There is no lay down and slide down it. So not for me.

If you don’t feel up to walking the island they have small vehicles, you can jump on and tour the total island.

These guys followed us everywhere we went.

Being in the sun with these guys all day tired us out so off to our room we went to freshen up. They don’t follow us around so much on the ship.

It is pretty sad when you can’t tell if the ship is moving or not unless you look out the windows or doors. After our beach day we came back on the ship and wondered to the boardwalk.

We snacked on the best hotdogs,

rode the carousel,

watched the performers practice for the aqua diving show,

and found another set of slides. This set of slides are dry slides. You ride them with mats.

And finally, what would a boardwalk be without Zoltar? Royal Caribbean has thought of every little detail to make sure you feel like you are on the boardwalk.

In the evening we went to the main dining room for dinner and hung out around the ship. There are photo opportunities everywhere.

Came back to our room tonight and there was a dog watching TV.

Here’s the stateroom 14548 video tour I promised yesterday.
Today’s product recommendation is for the Rev-A-Shelf. I love this for my pots, pans and lids. The one we recently installed is the 21 inches with a spot on the top shelf for the lids. We will also be installing a smaller one for baking dishes. These are awesome. https://amzn.to/3CzOwwq https://amzn.to/3ZcBuyq
