Year 5, Day 269 “Living the Dream”. Saturday, 1/24/2026, Day 19 of 22 day California Zephyr cross country trip, followed by a California coastal drive, and then a 14 night Mexico Cruise – Day 4 of 6 night Cabo overnight and Ensenada Cruise from Los Angeles on Quantum of the seas. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico Overnight – 5:30pm. Nice wake up hallway signs to read on the way to the Windjammer for breakfast.
Everyday there is a rainbow here. In the early morning it is pouring rain outside as we eat breakfast. Then a new daily rainbow appears. Even a Double one
At 8:50am, we find ourselves in a huge line. It wiggles through the casino on deck three. We are trying to get off the ship onto a tender boat. It is supposed to be very windy starting in the late morning through the rest of the day. 25mph wind in a tender boat should be interesting. We took the tender into port. Walked around the port a little bit and were back on the ship in a few hours. This is not my favorite port to walk around. I would not go out of my way to come to this port again. Very happy to go back to the ship. Last week when we were here we did the Whale Watch. It started snowing at home in Kentucky at 1pm. I am wearing a sweatshirt and shorts here in Mexico. As the afternoon progresses I am feeling pretty chilly in my shorts and sweatshirt.

Then at 4pm I look at my cameras at home. SNOW in the front yard and the temperature is 15 degrees Fahrenheit. Okay, I am happy to be here where it is 75. Don’t laugh it is windy. That breeze is so cold.
At 5:30pm our front walk bushes are covered with snow.
