Living the Dream Year 5 Day 270 – Day 20 of 22 day California Zephyr, California coastal drive, and 14 night Mexico Cruise – Day 5 of 6 night Cabo overnight and Ensenada Cruise from Los Angeles on Quantum of the seas – At Sea traveling from Cabo San Lucas to Ensenada, Mexico

Year 5, Day 270 “Living the Dream”. Sunday, 1/25/2026, Day 20 of 22 day California Zephyr cross country trip, followed by a California coastal drive, and then a 14 night Mexico Cruise – Day 5 of 6 night Cabo overnight and Ensenada Cruise from Los Angeles on Quantum of the seas. At sea traveling from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to Ensenada, Mexico.

At noon time the sea depth is 12,000 feet with six foot swells. We are traveling at 18 knots under sunny skies. It is 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Just hanging on the ship. Winter Snow Storm Fern is snowing and icing around our KY house and traveling up into the northeast. Our power has not gone out yet.

We decided to be prudent and stay near the Lexington Airport Tuesday night. Today was the largest cancellation day for air travel since March 2020 when the Covid-19 pandemic hit. Hopefully, our flights will go.

The plan was to get in around midnight and go home. We are assuming the roads may have black ice. The next week it is supposed to be really cold overnight. This picture says it all.

But let’s make the most of this sea day and the wonderful Quantum of the Seas. No more thoughts of SNOW.

The reminder is on our bed though. Our warm and sunny trip is coming to an end. Snow in the near future for us.
