Year 5, Day 263 “Living the Dream”. Sunday, 1/18/2026, Day 13 of 22 day California Zephyr cross country trip, followed by a California coastal drive, and then a 14 night Mexico Cruise – Day 3 of 5 night Cabo Overnight Cruise from Los Angeles on Quantum of the Seas – Cabo San Lucas, Mexico 1pm – Overnight. We are at the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula. This is where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez. We have traveled around 1,000 miles in the water from Los Angeles to here.
In the morning it was a little casino, and a little shop browsing.
Look at the prices in the ship store for candy and snacks. AMAZING!!!
We are eating lunch in the Windjammer as we get close to anchoring. We can see whales surfacing off the side of the cruise ship.
We head back to our room and from our balcony we can see the El Arco rock formation. Many many boats and jet skis are zooming around.

Cabo San Lucas is a tender port and we failed to get tender tickets for today. We are here till overnight and have a whale watch excursion scheduled for early tomorrow morning. We will also be back next week on our next cruise. Here are some pics from our afternoon ship wandering.
We decided to visit the Crown Lounge for appetizers in the early evening. Then we decided to try Sorrento’s pizza. Sorrento’s Pizza is a complimentary pizzeria on Royal Caribbean ships. Big mistake. The pizza was actually disgusting. I can’t believe they actually served it to people. MSC has excellent pizza. If you want great pizza go on an MSC cruise. Shame on Royal and Quantum for serving this garbage. All the pizza on the pizza bar at 6:30pm this evening should have been dumped in the garbage. I took one or two bites and left it. Wow, and I eat anything.
The best part about sitting in Sorrentos was watching the boat lights.
The ships is like an art exhibit. Be sure and wander around on all the floors. Look in the elevators, the hallways, and the stairwells. There is always a new treasure to discover.
