Living the Dream Year 4 Day 264 – The Wellington – Kitchen sink and appliances ready to use, more vinyl planks installed

Year 4, Day 264, “Living the Dream”. Sunday, 1/19/2025. The Wellington – This is the heaviest deepest sink we have ever installed. Steve woke up this morning concerned if the plumbing will fit underneath it. Before he took a sip of his coffee he was putting the pipes together to see if they fit. Yes they do.

The kitchen is loaded with dust. Every cabinet has to be cleaned out. By dinner time the kitchen is up and running, meatballs are cooking, and our appliances are finding homes.

More work was done on the downstairs vinyl plank flooring. We have decided to run that flooring right through the bedroom/office also.

Afternoon small house discussion.

Early evening entertainment – The Tiny House Nation.

I love that the sink drain baskets are made of Ocean Bound Plastic.

I feel terrible using Vinyl Planks. Plastic, plastic, plastic. I read that PVC flooring manufacturing releases enormous quantities of carbon dioxide into the air. It also uses some of the most toxic substances known to humans. Vinyl (polyvinyl chloride or PVC), is the world’s most versatile plastic. Polyvinyl chloride is a known carcinogen and contains health and environmental toxins such as dioxin and phthalates. I am so torn with this. I just realized we use vinyl siding. That is same material as this flooring.

Things to ponder today! Have to leave you thinking.

Bamboo Mixer Slider Mat for Stand Mixer: https://amzn.to/3PIkooB Setting up my kitchen counter. I want my Kitchen Aide mixer set up in the corner to use anytime. The issue is it is so heavy. This wooden slide allows me to slide it in and out as needed. This is great and it is so easy to use my mixer now.
