Year 4, Day 263, “Living the Dream”. Saturday, 1/18/2025. The Wellington – We were up early to take the kitchen apart for hopefully the last time. The new granite countertop is being installed this morning. It rained a lot last night and it is very wet and muddy outside. Hopefully they can get the countertop in while it is not raining. They will be bringing in a lot of mud and water though.

The front walk is pretty slick. It melts very slowly in the front of the house. There is no direct sun on it. It was 55 and sunny yesterday afternoon and the ice is still there. Steve tried to break it up. But had no luck.

We tried to retape the stairs more water tight. Water will ruin the oak stairs before they are finished.

It is an exciting day here at the Wellington construction site. At 9:40am one of the installers calls and says they will be here in 40 minutes. I can’t wait, I can’t wait, I can’t wait. We are ready trash compactor and dishwasher are screwed in and sink is waiting for her new home.

By 3pm the installers are gone. The sink has to sit for 24 hours before it can be hooked up. They did a great job. We are happy.

After the countertop installers left we had time to put down a little more of the plank flooring.

Then it is little house discussion time.

Things to ponder today! Have to leave you thinking.

Bamboo Mixer Slider Mat for Stand Mixer: https://amzn.to/3PIkooB Setting up my kitchen counter. I want my Kitchen Aide mixer set up in the corner to use anytime. The issue is it is so heavy. This wooden slide allows me to slide it in and out as needed. This is great and it is so easy to use my mixer now.
