Year 3 Day 259 – “Living the Dream”. Tuesday, 1/16/2024. Day 5 of 12-day winter 2024 vacation. Day 3 of 7-night Western Caribbean cruise on Harmony of the Seas. Day 2 of 2 days at sea cruising from Galveston, Texas to Roatan, Honduras. Breakfast then a little casino time. Yup stay away from there is my mantra. Expensive fun!!
Walking the 5th level track is nice. This morning on our walk at the back of the ship we noticed the boat was making a circle and then it appeared to be stopping.
Captain came on at 9am to tell us we were stopping because a small fishing boat was having some trouble and waving a flag. Our boat sent a rescue boat to them. We were on the deck 5 walking track at the time, and they cleared the deck. The rescue boat went out and spent a little time talking to them and came back. There were 5 people and a dog on board. A plane started circling after that. The rescue boat called for help, and we provided food and water. They all seemed healthy. We then sat by them till help arrived.
Somebody asked me what the best things is to do on this ship are. That all depends on your age and likes of course. Someone told me that you should walk every deck and I agree. There is something of interest to see on every deck. Discover all the artwork around the ship.
Are you more athletic do the rock climbing, the zip line, the water slides, and the flow rider.
Are you a foodie. Visit all the specialty restaurants. For a unique restaurant experience go to the Wonderland.
Relax in Central Park on deck 8. For us it is the nicest part of the ship. See every show. Most especially the ice show and the aqua theatre show. They are awesome. Do some karaoke. I can go on and on and on about things to do. Eat a Roast beef sandwich in Central Park. They are awesome. Really think Harmony is a great ship. Probably the nicest ship we have been on. BUT – here’s the big but. It is way tooooo freaking busy and way toooo freaking crowded. So, we get up early and eat breakfast as soon as the Windjammer is open. Specialty restaurant lunches are nice if you want to pay extra. Tonight’s dinner menu
