Year 3 Day 216 – “Living the Dream”. Monday, 12/04/2023. Day 1 of 4-night Bahamas and Perfect Day on Allure of the Seas (Day 3 of 17-day Caribbean vacation). We stayed in Lake Buena Vista Hilton Garden Inn last night and headed to Cruise Terminal #1, 9050 Discovery Road, Cape Canaveral, FL this morning. We are getting on Allure of the Seas today for a four-night Bahamas cruise. We haven’t done a four-night cruise in years. We always go for at least 7 nights. We got to the terminal and what a disaster. It took us 45 minutes to get in and parked. We ended up parking in the outside lot. The cost was $72.76 for a 4-night cruise. The security line to board was really long. Everybody was saying it was like being on a ride line in Disney. But at least our ride is really long unlike a Disney ride.
They moved really fast, and we were on the ship and in our room by 1 pm. Nice room, video will follow tomorrow. We went to the Windjammer for lunch.
Lots of children on this ship. Royal Caribbean has decreased the size of their beer. They were always 16-ounce beers and now they are 12 ounces. I am not sure of the price. We each get 5 drinks a day at no charge because of our status of Diamond Plus.
In the afternoon we walked around the ship and went to find our table in the dining room. Here’s a video of the deck four dining room.
The Welcome abord dinner menu has a lot of good choices. The dinner was a good experience and we had nice company at our table. Most people on this ship seem to be local to Port Canaveral due to it being a short cruise.
