Day 341 – “Living the Dream”. Wednesday, 4/6/2022. After a long late working day, the bathroom doors are installed. The shower door was a little tricky. I read instructions while Steve worked on putting them up. He had never installed frameless glass shower doors before. I guess the frameless are a lot different than the regular shower doors. He has installed a lot of shower doors before these. These are gorgeous Kohler doors.
Another issue was the interior door. Here in KY the less expensive prehung interior doors come with the trim on them. They are called split jamb doors. We tried to get the doors without the trim, and they were a lot more expensive. The trim on them is a little thinner that what we wanted, but the next size up was too big. The trim size we normally use was nowhere to be found. These doors are also a little taller than what we always use. So, Steve installed the saddle before he realized the door was different. Therefore, he had to cut the door to fit it in.
The laundry closet tile is installed but has to be grouted.
Tomorrow is excavation day to get the water hooked to this house.
Today’s product recommendations are for finishing a bathroom. The LED antifog back lit mirror is so nice. Also, new bathrooms need new towels.
