Year 2 Day 273 – “Living the Dream”. Thursday, 1/26/2023. Day 5 of 14-night Wonder of the Seas Caribbean Cruise. Today we are at Falmouth, Jamaica. Falmouth is located on the northern coast of Jamaica. This cruise port was redeveloped in 2011 and got a new name – Historic Falmouth Cruise Port. There is one terminal, and it can accommodate two large cruise ships simultaneously. There are a lot of retail shops here and a craft market.
We have been here many times, so we just got off and walked around the port. It was a warm, but breezy day. The Regal Princess ship is in port with us.
She only holds 3,560 passengers and is 1,082 feet 8 inches long and 125 feet 7 inches wide with 18 guest decks. Wonder of the seas which we are currently on is 1,188 feet long, 215 feet wide and we hold 7,084 passengers with 16 guest decks. I have never been on the Princess cruise line, but doing some quick calculations it appears that this ship may be bigger, but in actuality has less square footage for passengers hmm what’s going on? I love that the Regal Princess has an employee pool area right in front of the ship.
As we pulled away from the port around 4pm it appeared as though there were a lot of brush fires on the shore. At least there was a lot of visible smoke on shore.
Tonight, was dress your best night and they served Lobster. We had dinner and the employees entertained us.
After dinner we spent a little time in the casino. The casino is always jam packed.
Today’s product recommendation is for the Rev-A-Shelf. I love this for my pots, pans and lids. The one we recently installed is the 21 inches with a spot on the top shelf for the lids.
