Year 6, Day 82. “Living the Dream”. Tuesday, 7/21/2026, Clifty Hill 3. Day 34 Foundation Block Laying. Pallets are set and ready in the back of the house when the first load of lumber is delivered from Lumber King.

The best thing is by the end of the day the thirty foot rear basement wall is complete and ready to start the next part of the job. The cap blocks are on along with the anchor bolts.

Yup, feeling good tonight sitting on the deck looking at the new construction. A lot was accomplished today. Sitting and enjoying the feeling I spot a huge ball of Mistletoe up in the tree near the site. Did you know that Kentucky is home to a single native species of this plant? The Phoradendron serotinum (often called American mistletoe) is native to this area. Because the plant grows high in the branches, locals often use rifles or 12-gauge shotguns to knock the plant down. The things learned everyday are amazing.
