Living the Dream Year 4 Day 272 – Day 5 of 10 Day Tampa to Bahamas trip (Day 3 of 7 night Bahamas cruise on Radiance of the Seas from Tampa, Florida) – Nassau, Bahamas, Royal Club Beach Destination construction

Year 4, Day 272, “Living the Dream”. Monday, 1/27/2025. Day 5 of 10 day Tampa to Bahamas trip (Day 3 of 7 night Bahamas cruise on Radiance of the Seas from Tampa, Florida) – Nassau, Bahamas. We were up early and were the 2nd and 3rd persons in the Windjammer at 6:30am. It is nice and quiet.

My first and second cups of coffee were undrinkable. I always use the hot milk on a cruise for my coffee. Apparently I can’t on this ship. The film on the milk that clumps in my coffee was gross. After breakfast in the Windjammer Buffet we headed to Lattitudes to get some real coffee. They have removed the specialty coffee machine from the Crown Lounge. However, as Diamond Plus members, we can get free specialty coffee at Lattitudes. The line was super long.

OMG look at my face from the first sip to after half a cup of coffee.

We pulled into Nassau, Bahamas next to the Carnival Elation. The first thing I noticed was that the Carnival Elation had very few balconies. The Elation has 188 rooms with balconies and Radiance of the Seas has 578. The Elation is even older than the Radiance. She was built in 1998 and our ship was built in 2001. Both are old ships. As we sit with our coffees, the Celebrity Equinox pulls in with over 1,200 balconies. 85 percent of her rooms have balconies. She was built in 2008. You can observe these three ships. As the cruise industry grew, passengers wanted more balconies. The ship designs changed with that demand.

Captain Jeffrey announced at 7:59am that we could go ashore. It is a beautiful cooler morning for shorts and a sweatshirt. We were off the ship by 8:30am.

Took a two hour walk and were back on the ship by 10:45am. The Nassau port has really come a long way, Here are links to other times in Nassau.

Construction is progressing on the 17 acre Royal Beach Club destination experience. It is located on the western end of Paradise Island near Nassau. We spent some afternoon time watching them work. Okay Steve really did, he just loves work. We were here two months ago – 11/21/2024. Here is a link to pictures of that site from then https://deestimes.com/…/living-the-dream-year-4-day…/

We have wonderful dinner mates. I hope they are enjoying our evening time together as much as we are. I also hope we are providing comfort to Meghan. She had a burial at sea for her mom yesterday. I am sure it is tough to see everyone having a great time and you are burying your mom. Did you know that you can have a burial at sea on a Royal Caribbean ship. There is no charge for this. The services are held in the back of the ship. The ashes must be in an approved scattering or biodegradable urn. It must be free of plastic or wire. The entire urn must be tossed. A certificate proving the urn is biodegradable is required along with the death certificate and cremation certificate. Arrangements must be made in advance Meghan said the service was very nice.

Until next time Nassau – BYE
