Living the Dream Year 6 Day 74 – Clifty Hill 3 – Day 28 Foundation Block Laying, Hello mole video

Year 6, Day 74. “Living the Dream”. Monday, 7/13/2026, Clifty Hill 3. Day 28 Foundation Block Laying. While Steve worked on laying block. I headed to the Marriott in Somerset for coffee with some Newcomers. It amazes me how many people are moving here from Washington state and California. I think the high property taxes in those areas are making Kentucky a nice area. Lots of retired Military and Government employees come here. Michigan people tend to settle here also. Weather is much better and it is a halfway point to sunny Florida for them. A lot of individuals settle for Lake Cumberland’s boating and fishing. I was in Europe and our waiter one night in Paris had been here and said he loves Lake Cumberland. Who would have known. Lake Cumberland is known as the “Houseboat Capital of the World” due to its large fleet of rental houseboats. It offers over 1,200 miles of shoreline and 65,000 acres of water for boating, fishing camping, and other water sports. I heard the other reason people like it here is because the small airport is great if you have a plane. Nice hangars are available. The Lake Cumberland Regional Airport used to have Commercial flights operating out of it. Lake Cumberland Regional Airport (KSME) · Somerset, KY https://share.google/zp3CWStIPWpxon95Z. Well anyway, in our little world two courses of block were completed on the back wall and the side wall today. Those two walls are now up eight courses. Only four more courses to go.

Look at the little video below of the mole. I surprised a mole today, he was trying to cross our driveway. These underground creatures are strange looking.

Cleaning up the cement mixer this afternoon was difficult. We emptied all hoses of standing water to do it. Someone around the area decided to dig without calling to check where the public water lines ran. They hit the public water line and we have had no water all day.
