Year 5, Day 259 “Living the Dream”. Wednesday, 1/14/2026, Day 9 of 22 day California Zephyr cross country trip, followed by a California coastal drive, and then a 14 night Mexico Cruise – Day 2 of 3 night Ensenada cruise from Los Angeles on Quantum of the Seas – It is a sea day traveling from Los Angeles, California to Ensenada, Mexico.
We are barely moving. At noon time we are 109 miles from Ensenada. We are traveling at 7 knots. It is 68 degrees and sunny. No wind at all. The pool area is loaded with families and the Casino is very busy.
It is a great day to do a video of our stateroom. So here it is Quantum of the Seas Balcony Forward Stateroom 13540.
Quantum of the Seas was originally deployed to Asia. It served the Chinese market with year-round sailings to Japan and South Korea from Shanghai. Royal Caribbean decided to homeport this ship there. They wanted to meet the demand of the rapidly expanding Chinese tourism sector. Today as you walk around the ship you see evidence of this. Most signs are in English and Mandarin.
The Grilled Chicken Breast dinner was excellent. The rolls on this ship are the best. I have to stay away from them.
First time ever seeing this at the main dinning room dinner. This was very enjoyable.
Tonight’s attire is 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s.. It is very cool to see people dressed up. Some get really into it.
