Living the Dream Year 4 Day 146 – Clifty Hill 2 – Day 13 of 25-day Alaska to Las Vegas – Day 9 of 13-night Alaska and Los Angeles cruise on Brilliance of the Seas – Victoria, British Columbia, Canada – Balcony stateroom 7136 video

Year 4 Day 146 “Living the Dream”. Monday, 9/23/2024. Day 13 of 25-day Alaska to Las Vegas trip. Day 9 of 13- Alaska and Los Angeles cruise on Brilliance of the Seas. Today we pulled into Victoria, British, Columbia, Canada around 7am. Victoria, British Columbia is Canada’s warmest city. The ship was cleared at 7:40am. Carnival Spirit is also docked.

Did you know that Canada is 1.6% larger that the United States. We waited till 9:30am to head out. Immediately when we got off the ship you noticed a very fishy smell. We took some good pictures of the Canada sign in port and started walking to the left once we got out of the port.

The homes are really nice along this street, and everything is really clean. We walked about 10 to 15 minutes to Fisherman’s wharf. Waste Management picks up in Canada also.

The floating docks had multiple places to eat and even a bed and breakfast. How cool would it be to stay in a bed and breakfast on the water. On the dock there we picked up the water taxi. The cost was $15.00 CAD for anywhere you wanted to go. We asked to be taken to China Town.

The boats have to go around the water runway in the middle of the Harbour. Remember those sea planes we were watching take off and land in Vancouver yesterday. Well, most of the planes here go back and forth to Vancouver. 200 a day take off and land and go between the two cities because Vancouver, British Columbia is where there is lots of international trade and commerce, while Victoria, British Columbia is where the government and administration are. Therefore, there is lots of commuting by sea planes between the two cities.

The flowers are gorgeous everywhere you look.

We walked around China Town and then headed downtown.

The Parliament Buildings downtown are very British looking. I wish we had taken the time to go inside them. I didn’t realize till later in the day that the Parliament Buildings are open to visitors on weekdays (Monday to Friday) for guided tours and self-guided tours from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Guided tours are free and last approximately 40 minutes. Tours begin from inside the Main Entrance in the Lower Rotunda.

There is a ferry right there that runs to Seattle. We saw lots of people getting on and off with suitcases.

It was a long long walk today. We walked all day long, and were very happy to get back on the ship

Here is a link to the last time we were in Victoria. https://deestimes.com/…/living-the-dream-year-2-day-151/ The day started cloudy, then became really sunny, and in the evening the fog rolled in. As we ate dinner in Chops the visibility became zero. The food and service were exceptional at Chops. I highly recommend going for dinner at least one night.

The ships horn has been blowing for hours now. Here’s a video of our new balcony stateroom 7136.

Tomorrow morning every passenger on the ship has to get an immigration ticket for September 25th when we will get into San Francisco, California. Crew is not allowed off a Royal Caribbean ship unless they have completed five contracts.
