Living the Dream Year 3 Day 205 – Happy Thanksgiving from PA

Year 3 Day 205 – “Living the Dream”. Thursday, 11/23/2023. Happy Thanksgiving.

What a great day and the food was bussin. Can you tell I spent a lot of time with a twelve-year-old. That is the word I heard come out of her mouth constantly. But I have to agree the food was bussin. Lol. The day started with making a pumpkin yogurt parfait.

The day was busy, but it was so much fun. A day of cooking. Everyone in the family contributed to cooking the meal. There is something about cooking together that just brings joy to everyone.

Jamie made a picture-perfect turkey. It was browned to perfection.

Jenna sets a beautiful holiday table. A nice table setting, and good company make the food so much more palatable. This holiday feast had a great table setting, the best company, and the food was absolutely awesome.

Then there was lots of eating, talking, playing Christmas bingo, playing an all-day Thanksgiving trivia-joke-quotes-sayings game called gobble gobble, after-dinner walk, relaxing in Christmas pj’s, and watching Christmas movies. Steve napped after dinner, no walk for him.

Justin went over and closed up Clifty Hill 2 roof while Steve napped.

I am extremely thankful and grateful for the hard work, time, thoughtfulness, love, and money Jenna and Jamie spent to make Thanksgiving feel so nice. Life in one word can be described as “experience”. Today was a great experience as most of my life has been. Now some Thanksgiving history. During the Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed Thanksgiving a national holiday to honor the blessings of our country, even as he fought to preserve our Union. On October 6, 1941, both houses of the United States Congress passed a joint resolution fixing the traditional last Thursday date for the holiday beginning in 1942. This year over 46 million turkeys were consumed.

Here is your thought for the day! Although we all should be thankful every day.

Steve’s hands are so sore he doesn’t want to touch anything, including me. Lol. He is looking forward to this time off from roofing. Roofing tears your fingers and nails apart. His hands need a little time to heal. He uses these fingerless gloves, but they don’t protect your fingers. Here’s a link to the ones he uses: https://amzn.to/3G8B9oe
