Living the Dream Year 3 Day 158 – Clifty Hill 2 – Framing continues with 2×10 ceiling joists aka attic floor joists, Sussette is the best Walgreen employee

Year 3 Day 158 – “Living the Dream”. Saturday, 10/07/2023. Clifty Hill 2 –

Back to Framing today. 2 x 10 Ceiling joists aka attic floor joists are being installed.

I am back to Lowes shopping. Every Lowes shopping experience is at least an hour. Things are way up on the overstock shelf a lot with regular shelves fairly empty. The man today got the box of nails I needed down with a ladder. He put the box on top in my cart. It was the incorrect nails. He had to get the other box for me. He says, “I’ll just put this back up in overflow”. I said, ‘Why don’t you just put it on the shelf instead of climbing back up the ladder”. He says, “Good idea”. I then asked him why the shelves are empty when there is all that stuff in overflow. He says, “We don’t have enough help”. But he was going to put the extra box he brought down back up. It is mind boggling!!

I run into some extra ordinary people quite often. Today I watched Sussette a Walgreen’s pharmacy tech provide awesome customer service to so many customers with a big smile. She explained things so thoroughly. What an impressive employee Somerset, KY Walgreens Pharmacy has in her. The patience she had was incredible to watch. This is the second store employee today that I was so impressed with.

The woman in the Diamond Design Jewelry was so sweet also. Retired from being a hospital operating room nurse and moved here to KY from OH. Then after that both men that assisted me in Lowes were also awesome to everyone. My faith is renewed in people. Everywhere I went today employees had smiles. Is it the cooler weather or is it the way I am looking at others? Are you aware that your local Walgreens pharmacy could see disruptions on Monday, October 9, 2023, as workers will stage a walkout for better pay and conditions. Between Monday and Wednesday, thousands of workers could participate, but with workers not belonging to a union that can authorize a legal strike, the fear of retaliation could limit the number of people who choose to leave their posts. Frost will be on the pumpkin tonight.

It looks as though the bugs are headed into the new house to keep warm. No – I really don’t like bugs.

The vegetable garden is all overgrown, but there were some nice tomatoes to pick before the frost tonight.

We covered the cantaloupe with a tarp for tonight. We did not plant that cantaloupe.

Today’s product recommendations are cruising essentials (paid links): 1) It is so nice not to have to worry about stapling your luggage tags to your luggage handles and to have them rip off. We have these plastic holders on our luggage and love them. We use them for Royal Caribbean cruises and also fold the MSC tags to fit in them when we travel with MSC cruise lines. Here’s a link: https://amzn.to/3RAGgED 2) A lanyard is great to have. It makes it so easy to carry your seapass card and some tip money around the ship. These are really nice. Here’s a link: https://amzn.to/3PTVLGB 3) I have found that a nice toiletry bag is essential, and this is the one I love. Here’s a link to it: https://amzn.to/3EO2Y4F 4) Packing cubes – I can’t say enough about them. I would never go on vacation without them again. Here’s a link: https://amzn.to/3Rxx8AA 5) You have to have a small purse for getting off at ports or for carrying a few things with you around the ship. Great for when you have no pockets to carry the cell phone. This one is beautiful. Here’s the link: https://amzn.to/3ETJNpS 6) Room Thermometer- I leave one of these packed in my bag. The temperature fluctuates so much, and I like to try and keep my room at a stable temperature. This keeps me honest with myself. Here’s a link: https://amzn.to/46tNoXH
