Year 2 – Day 195, Wednesday, November 9, 2022. Someone asked me today why we moved to KY. This is the story of how we started living the dream. We sold our homes in PA because we were bored during the covid lockdown and home prices were super high. The fact was it was not our forever home anyway. Steve wants to die in a house he built. Our PA homes sold in a few days for more money than we were asking. We started looking around near our daughter who lives in Green Lane, PA. It was really expensive. So, we sold everything or gave it away. We put mostly Steve’s tools in storage and then proceeded to live in Hilton brand hotels up and down the east coast for three months. Hey, we quickly became Hilton Diamond members. As you can imagine it got old. We did do a lot of theme parks and tourist attractions. We were trying to wait for land prices to go down. As you know, prices just kept going up. But we were really bored and needed a project. Our son lives in KY, and we saw this foreclosure on Realtor.com with an asking price of $25,000 and we offered $10,000. They took it. And here we are. Today was a spackling day. Middle level bedroom has been coated three times and is ready to be sanded and primed. The foyer has two on the high parts and one on the lower level. Tomorrow Steve is going to put the third coat on the high part. Then he will take the scaffold down and second coat the lower level. I am back to normal everyday life. Doing a lot of holiday shopping and enjoying this sunny KY weather.
