Day 343 – “Living the Dream”. Friday, 4/8/2022. The plumbing inspector did the trench inspection virtually and he said go ahead and backfill it.
Steve backfilled the trench,
grouted the laundry room floor and made an access door for the laundry closet through the kitchen pantry.
We also decided to have the septic tank pumped. So, we thought we had a 500-gallon tank. We thought the hard stuff was the bottom of the tank. It ended up that was solid waste totally filled with baby wipes. We actually have a 1,000-gallon tank. They had a really hard time pumping out the wipes. They kept clogging the machine. There are still wipes on the bottom of the tank that they could not get out. He said to check and if they start floating to the top to use a rake and get them out. Apparently, the place where they dump charges extra for baby wipes. So DO NOT FLUSH BABY WIPES. They will totally ruin your septic system. They do not breakdown. We are supposed to have snow showers tomorrow morning. Today we had some hail and sleet. I think we have had enough of you old man winter.
Oh, by the way, showering inside is fantastic.
