Living the Dream – Day 21 of our 1/2 world trip aka Year 2, Day 164, Saturday, October 8, 2022. Getting off the ship onto the tender was challenging this morning They were going to stop the tenders and wait for the seas to calm down. Then the supervisor came by and said that we could board with no ramp. They couldn’t use a ramp. The tender was going down four feet then back up. We had to quickly step in when the sea had the tender up. The ride over to Lahaina was super wavy and a very rough ride. As we pulled into the dock there were surfers surfing right there. We decided today was a day just to walk around town. We walked through the park and of course Steve gets hit up for money. He is a magnet for people who need money. So after he gave the man money. We sat a little bit away and watched the man. He didn’t ask anyone else for money. We walked to the outlet stores. Just like all shopping malls now, there are a lot of vacant stores. We came back to the ship around 1:30pm and spent the afternoon socializing with the crew. Later in the evening we packed up our stuff. We are changing rooms for the next portion of out trip. Our current stateroom attendant will move our luggage to our new room in the morning. So it is Aloha to Maui tonight at 10 pm and on to Honolulu for tomorrow where most passengers will disembark. First thing in the morning we will be spending the day exploring Honolulu using the hop on hop off trolleys. Once we leave the ship at 8 am we cannot get back on until after 11:30 am when the ship will be open for new passengers.
