Living the Dream – Year 2, Day 9

Monday, May 9, 2022. We are in Ochos Rios, Jamaica today on the MSC Seashore.

This morning we tried breakfast in the Central Park Restaurant. It was very nice and quiet. The coffee was excellent. We then took a walk to the market place buffet after and it was crowded. We sat outside and had coffee it was wonderful.  On MSC cruises you add your credit card to your account as you get on the ship for on board charges.  You can also change your card at anytime.  Machines are around by guest services.

Pulling into Port.

We got off ship and walked around the port. It was hot, hot, hot.

The port was really quiet.

We walked into town for a few blocks.

The spider man was entertaing as usual. He says he comes here everyday there is a ship in Port and on the weekends.

The mask law has been lifted in Jamaica. Very few people wearing masks. Sitting on the boardwalk at Starbucks and none of the tourists speak English. Only the Jamaicans.

Everyday we sit at the Jungle bar.  We have met the most fantastic bar server.  He is such a nice young man from the Phillipines.  So Richar has made the Exceptional people page.  I will be adding him to that elite group. He will be moving up in the world.

And while we are away, the birds are causing trouble at home.

We have decided it is not good to tip the bar severs. They just keep bringing the drinks. Especially by the the Long Island pool. Wow, we had to walk away.

We were on our way from Ochos Rios by 5pm and will be traveling 254 nautical miles arriving at George Town. Cayman Islands 8am tomorrow morning. Steve is forever fixing things. The tapping in our room was driving us crazy. We’ll he found the loose ceiling panel and wedged some paper in. No more tapping keeping us awake.

This afternoon the bees started talking to us from our security cameras.

Dinner at the Central Park Restaurant tonight.

The ship is not crowded. We asked today how many passengers are on board. We were told between 2,500 and 3,000. So ship is less than 1/2 full.  We used the interactive screens by the elevators to make show reservations for Wednesday night at 7pm called musucal show called Mystic Forest.  It will be the first show we have gone to this trip.  We have been trying not to go into really crowded close areas as much as possible.

After dinner in the evenings, we love to walk around the ship and explore.  There are so many unique different areas.

The entertainment in the atrium area is usually very nice.

Another animal sharing my bed.

Today’s product recommendations are traveling essentials.                                                    1) Luggage hand cart – we love this cart for easy rolling for easy cruise carry-on bags.  Even when you can’t go to your room right away this is so easy to walk around the ship with.  Here’s the link https://amzn.to/3s37EOw

2) This large toiletry bag is the best.  Steve has the black and I have the pink.  We both absolutely love them.  Here’s the link https://amzn.to/3v1p6ok and picture
