Day 146 – Thursday, 9/23/2021. Last night it went down to 48 here. We used the heater in the cabin.
To keep the temperature in the 60’s.
We also had to use our portable heater for a short while in the old house. Humidity is very high in Kentucky.
It was cooler today but sunny. Stair building continued.
Little blocks of wood were fastened to the oak tread and the primed pine riser to keep them together and give extra support. The risers will be painted.
You can now walk from the front door to the top floor. The first set of steps are from the front door foyer to the middle level open kitchen gathering room. The steps will be covered with paper to protect the oak from stains until we finish them.
Here are the steps from the middle level to the upper level.
This is looking down from the upper-level bedroom area. When completed all the stairs will have railing and handrails.
Although the stairs are getting done in the house, you still have to climb a ladder to get into the house.
I cleaned the upstairs of all the excess building products drop offs.
After the cleanup was done, I had to take some pictures. This picture is taken from the master bedroom looking towards the front of the house through the second upstairs bedroom.
Here’s another picture from the master bedroom into the second bedroom on the left and the bathroom on the right. The bathroom has the skylight. The skylight will be over a double sink vanity.
Look at the main level. It is a disaster. Tomorrow, I (hero support) will work on cleaning this mess up.
Headed out to the store. Traffic was fairly heavy. Lots of tourists around.
It warmed up and the day ended beautiful with a temperature of 70.
By the evening it had cooled down again.
We ate Beef Quesadillas for dinner on the back porch with our hoodies closed up tightly.
And yummy blueberries for dessert. Eating pretty healthy for camping!!
