Living the Dream Day 144

It has been wet and cooler lately. We are muddy and wet all the time. Last night we showered in the rain. Fun, fun times.

So, we have been placing our garbage bag in the old house at night to keep it away from the animals. Mainly the farm cats. This morning the bag in the old house was torn apart. We are thinking that the cats are getting in through the bathroom floor. So tonight, we are going to start hanging it from the middle of the porch. Just like you do when you camp to keep your garbage from the bears. I have a feeling our cameras are going to be going crazy with the cats trying to jump from the porch railing to get the bag. The detailed framing is being completed now. We want to have the inside totally ready to go and the stairs in for the HVAC contractor coming in next week.

The shower shelf and seat are framed. We had to give it a try. Lol, never thought I would be posting pictures of us in the shower.

The opening to the attic space is now framed and plywood laid for the air handler.

Upstairs is almost totally framed and ready for the plumbing, hvac, and electrical rough ins. Finally found the number in the windows after Barb told me exactly where they were. Called Lowes and surprise surprise we only had thirty days to tell them about defects. The windows were delivered August 7th. We had until September 7th to report the torn screens. We did not install them until August 27th. Guess I was a little slow, so they are going to find out how much it would cost to replace them. Again, Lowes is the only game in town.

But we are headed back there tonight for oak stair treads and a table saw. We are loving our new bed and sleeping so well. Ordered new comforter and curtains to match for our cabin. The mimosa tree is done flowering and has huge pods. It is still beautiful with the morning sun shining through.

Today’s product recommendations are for keeping aware of your surroundings: 1) Love this indoor-outdoor thermometer, and 2) We own and love this five camera Blink Outdoor camera system with the Echo Show. Here’s the links to these products:
