As I stepped out of the cabin this morning, I was met with freshly sprayed skunk smell. Then walked to the old house opened the door and was met with a horrid smell. I could not even walk into the house. It burned my throat and made me choke. I had no idea what the smell was. Steve came to the rescue and said it was wires burning. Mice either chewed the wires or the settling of the house broke some wires. Maybe a skunk chewed a wire and was fried. Who knows, but there is never a dull moment at this building site. We only have two breakers turned on in the old house now. We set up a huge fan to clear the air in the house.
Then Steve proceeded to set up two temporary plugs with new wire bypassing the old houses wire.
I have to say Steve is the smartest man I know. He can do or can figure out how to do anything. He amazes me. After this morning we made the final decision not to go away next Sunday for two weeks. It makes no sense. We have 6 weeks of cruises scheduled for the end of October also. We need the extra time in September to work on this house. Some siding was put up today,
but it was a short day due to the sudden need to fix the electric situation in the old house.
