Steve is whistling away and having such a good time with his new $65.00 stair jig.
All I know is that we are getting closer day by day to being able to walk up stairs in the house. No more ladders will be nice. He is constantly buying new Dickie suspenders. The clips only last so long and then they don’t hold a grip any longer.
It is a constant job to pick up their garbage and keep the worksite clean.
Our new full size air mattress is comfortable and we now have so much room to walk around the cabin. I love it. The only bad part is that for the last two nights we have had issues with it rapidly deflating in the middle of the night. It goes like this. It starts to feel a little soft and I wake up – “Steve, Steve the bed is deflating” Before we can do anything we are basically on the floor engulfed in a soft air mattress. What a way to wake up. If the bed starts rubbing against the wall the valve opens up. Work started early today and the moon was still up in the sky.
The sweat bees are getting worse. You can’t stand to be outside at all. Hundreds of them surround you all the time except in the really hot part of the day they disappear for a few hours.
Even the bees can’t take this heat. Ordered a screen house today to put around the picnic table. It is really miserable trying to eat with the bees landing on you. The old house is dark and dingy and the bees don’t go in there even with the door open. They hover at the doorway. I have taken to wearing a long sleeve sweatshirt and long pants and jeans outside. All that is exposed then is my face and hands. It is really hot though. We are really !!LIVING THE DREAM NOW!! At 10:30 this morning the surface of the shingles on the roof were 151.8 degrees and it is 82 in the shade on the porch.
Steve and Justin take breaks on the porch and they feel they are in air conditioning. The roof on the dog house dormer side of the house has been completed.
The roof on the shed dormer side should be finished tomorrow.
The brake is set up to start the siding tomorrow.
