Year 5, Day 173 “Living the Dream”. Monday, 10/20/2025 – Day 14 of 30 day trip to Rome, Italy with a Mediterranean cruise and a transatlantic cruise back to Bayonne, NJ. Day 9 of 10 night Greece, Turkey, and Italy cruise on Odyssey of the Seas – Day 1 of 2 Sea days traveling from Istanbul, Turkey to Civitavecchia, Italy.
Up early for a 7am mani-pedi appt. Went to the Crown Lounge to have cappuccino, but of course the machine was broken again. Every time we’re on a Royal Caribbean ship, there are issues with the Crown Lounge coffee machines. This machine seems to make about three cups of coffee and is out of commission again. I had a wonderful fire and ice manicure pedicure with hot stones and shellac on the finger nails. The price was not so wonderful. It was $186.24 that was after a 20% diamond plus discount. That’s a little rich for our blood. Actually it is kind of ridiculous. I am not sure if I will do it again. Boohoo, but I like my nails to look good. The spa on Royal Caribbeans Quantum class ships is fantastic. You can look out and watch the ocean. You can also see people walking or running. The views are awesome. Actually the nail technician massaged my legs so hard. I may have black and blues. But my legs were hurting from all our excursions.
When I left the spa my legs felt so good that I ran down the stairs back to my room.
At noon we went to Cheers with an Officer. The captain told us that this sailing was the first time Odyssey visited the port of Istanbul. A plaque and certificate was presented to Captain Marek by Turkish officials while we were in port. We had a great lunch with new friends we met on board. The Cheese Ravioli was awesome. A little to much wine though. Hey one glass is too much for me.
Rest of the day hung around the ship.
Tonight is Dress your best or in a Halloween costume. One more time change and a sea day before we are back in our departing port.
