Year 4, Day 346, “Living the Dream”. Friday, 4/11/2025. The Wellington – Day 10 of 11 day trip to the ABC Islands – Day 8 of 8 night Southern Caribbean cruise on Adventure of the Seas. – Day 2 of 2 days at sea traveling from Kralendijk, Bonaire to Port Canaveral, Florida. Last day to hide my ducks. They all will go home to a new home. I watched a women pick one up today all excited. I love seeing that. Here are two links to our first experience with the ducks. There is always something going on. Today there was a special tribute to Veterans in the atrium. It was very heart warming. Never saw that on a ship before.
In the afternoon an ARC(American Roll-On Roll-Off Carrier) was cruising along with us outside the starboard side. ARC is the leading US flag Ro-Ro carrier in the U.S., specializing in international trade and providing various services for the U.S. government. These ships offer port-to-port transport of heavy vehicles, helicopters, and Household Goods. They also provide end-to-end transport of Privately-Owned Vehicles and other equipment for the U.S. government and its various agencies.
We usually purchase a Book Later Form from the Next Cruise desk before we leave the ship. The cost is $200.00 and you must book a cruise within a year. If you book within 60 days from purchasing, you receive some additional savings. These savings depend on the length of the cruise and the stateroom type you book. These advanced deposit open bookings combine great with your casino rewards. The benefit for purchasing one of these is significant. If you are going to book a cruise, deposits are normally $100 per passenger for 1 to 5-night cruises. It is $250 per passenger for 6 to 9-night cruises, and $450 per passenger for 10 to 14-night cruises. The deposit is $500 per passenger for 15 nights and longer cruises. Bermuda sailings require a $250 deposit per person regardless of length. Suite deposits are 10% of the cruise fare or the standard deposit, whichever is higher. We have found that cruises are less expensive when they first come out though, which is way over a year. Oh my that one diamond plus drink got me. I dated the form 4/11/2023.
Look at the lovely cake in the Windjammer. They were giving out huge pieces. Nope we did not stand in line for a piece. I don’t need a sugar high!!
Tonight is our last night before we depart the ship in the morning. Papers with the instructions and times for departure have been left on our bed. You also can find information by watching channel 7 on your stateroom TV. If you plan to have your luggage moved off the ship in the morning, leave it outside your stateroom cabin tonight. You will collect it inside the terminal. Your departure time is designated by your luggage tag color. We will be walking off the ship rolling/carrying our own luggage. as self-assist. Our departure time is 7:15am.
Going to miss the sunrises, the sunsets, the moon lit nights on the balcony, and our great stateroom attendant. Thanks for the clean room, the towel animals, and all the time you spent caring for us. You are the best Antonio.
