Year 3 Day 271 – “Living the Dream”. Sunday, 1/28/2024. Clifty Hill 2 – Day 6 stair building. The attic stairs are completed. You can now walk from the garage to the attic without climbing a ladder. How awesome is that??

Our breakfast conversation was about drinking water. I have been into drinking bottle water all day and every day, ever since we left Wantage, NJ and went to city water. I worry about the old pipes our water flows through down the street. Now they come out with the plastic in our bodies due to drinking bottled water. Yikes! Our conversation led to Steve and why he always puts in copper water lines. I am glad we do after reading this. All types of water pipes, not only lead, can release chemicals into drinking water. Plastic pipes, which are constructed from potentially dozens of different chemicals, release more contaminants into drinking water than unlined metal pipes, which are built of few materials. Copper pipes with lead-free joint materials are the best choice for water pipes. They are long-lasting and won’t leach chemicals into your drinking water. However, copper pipes are generally more expensive, and copper’s intensive extraction and manufacturing process presents some environmental trade-offs. I think more research needs to be done on the effect of running water through PEX for drinking. One thing you should be aware of is if you have copper water pipes you cannot drink the hot water from the sink. You need to take the cold water and heat it up. Other excitement here is that we have a beautiful fat male Eastern Bluebird that just sits on our bird feeder most of the day. The bluebird is a symbol of hope, love, positivity, and renewal. It symbolizes the essence of life and beauty. Eastern Bluebirds eat mostly insects, wild fruit and berries. They do not eat bird seeds. We think he is sitting there and waiting for insects and such in the grass to move about. He does hop to the ground peck away and then goes back to sitting on the bird feeder. I have read but not seen that farmers will put bluebird boxes around agricultural fields to feed on insects that can otherwise destroy crops. I think I am going to make or buy an Eastern bluebird nest box.

Things to ponder today! Have to leave you thinking.
