Living the Dream Year 3 Day 143 – Day 2 of nine-night Canada and New England Cruise – At Sea traveling from Bayonne, NJ to Boston, MA

Year 3 Day 143 – “Living the Dream”. Friday, 9/22/2023. We are at sea today traveling from Bayonne, NJ to Boston, MA. It is the last official day of summer. It is cool, a jeans and sweatshirt day. This is not the Caribbean.

We had early morning coffee at Cafe Promenade with some cows, a teddy bear couple, and a cute puppy dog.

Here’s a video of our stateroom 1234. It is a starboard forward balcony on deck 10.

There are 3,634 people on this ship. It only feels crowded if you try to go to the Windjammer after 9am for breakfast. We ate breakfast in the Windjammer, but the dining room on Deck 4 was open for breakfast, Here’s their menu. On a sea day the dining room is open from 11:30am – 1pm for lunch. We had a really nice window table at lunch time.

The seas have been very smooth. You wouldn’t even know you were on a ship. The employees on this ship are very nice. Our stateroom attendant cleans in the morning and does provide towel animals. So far this ship and the employees has been a very pleasant experience.

In the Afternoon we sat in the Viking Crown Lounge on deck 14 and viewed the ocean and Splash Away Bay. The children’s water play area was empty. It is a little cold today and there does not appear to be many children on board. This lounge seats 134. In the distance we see another cruise ship. No one around us can tell what ship it is.

We are also enjoying our dinner table mates. They are two crazy sisters that are keeping Steve and I on our toes. The best part of cruising is spending time with great people.

Tomorrow we will be in Boston from 8am-6pm. Our plan is to walk the Freedom Trail. It is formal night, so I tried to curl my hair a little before going to dinner.

After dinner we went to the casino and spent a little while and Lookie, Lookie we actually won. This is the largest amount of money we ever won on a slot machine.

On the way back to our stateroom the elevator says Tuesday. Okay I had one drink, but not that many where I don’t realize it is not Tuesday. It is Friday, please do not try to confuse me Royal Caribbean. When is the last time this elevator had its day updated? There are signs in the elevators on this ship telling you not to put your hands in the elevator doors. I have never seen that before. I would imagine someone had their hand crushed.

Here’s today’s compass:

Here’s your thoughts to ponder for the day.

Today’s product recommendations are cruising essentials: 1) It is so nice not to have to worry about stapling your luggage tags to your luggage handles and to have them rip off. We have these plastic holders on our luggage and love them. We use them for Royal Caribbean cruises and also fold the MSC tags to fit in them when we travel with MSC cruise lines. Here’s a link: https://amzn.to/3RAGgED 2) A lanyard is great to have. It makes it so easy to carry your seapass card and some tip money around the ship. These are really nice. Here’s a link: https://amzn.to/3PTVLGB 3) I have found that a nice toiletry bag is essential, and this is the one I love. Here’s a link to it: https://amzn.to/3EO2Y4F 4) Packing cubes – I can’t say enough about them. I would never go on vacation without them again. Here’s a link: https://amzn.to/3Rxx8AA 5) You have to have a small purse for getting off at ports or for carrying a few things with you around the ship. Great for when you have no pockets to carry the cell phone. This one is beautiful. Here’s the link: https://amzn.to/3ETJNpS 6) Room Thermometer- I leave one of these packed in my bag. The temperature fluctuates so much, and I like to try and keep my room at a stable temperature. This keeps me honest with myself. Here’s a link: https://amzn.to/46tNoXH
