Living the Dream Year 3 Day 140 – Heading out on vacation – Canada cruise and OBX

Year 3 Day 140 – “Living the Dream”. Tuesday, 9/19/2023. Headed out on vacation. We will be cruising out of Cape Liberty Cruise Port located in Bayonne, New Jersey on Thursday. Today we are driving to Clarksburg, WV, tomorrow to Jenna’s for a quick visit, and then onto the cruise port for a nine-night Canada cruise. Cape Liberty Cruise Port is located at the north side of the 2 mi long pier of the Peninsula at Bayonne Harbor. It is the former military ocean terminal Bayonne Navy Base/MOTBY facility and began operations in 2004. It is just across the Hudson River from New York City. Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises use the port. It is convenient for travelers as it is only fifteen minutes from Newark Liberty International Airport and seven miles south of Manhattan. They also have a really nice parking garage. We have driven and parked in the garage many times. Recently I read that only handicapped park in the garage and everyone else parks offsite and is bussed in. We will see when we get there. I am hoping that we can park in the garage. We are happy to be away and need the break. There is not much to do when I am mainly riding in the car. Steve does most of the driving. But at the rest areas I sometimes get caught up with taking beautiful scenery and flower pictures.

Here are your thoughts to ponder today. I did a lot of contemplating them while riding.

Today’s product recommendations are for tools needed to put up window and door headers. Click on the links or one the pictures below. Either one will work. The first item is a wall jack. You can easily put up your headers with this. Here’s the link: https://amzn.to/3Lt6B3s and utube video of Steve using it: https://youtu.be/X10tCuBbsx8?si=j5nkRS8N2y0MlmzZ The second item is a framing nail gun. Steve uses Bostich. Here’s a link to one: https://amzn.to/3PpBGX0 Third item is a good 16-ounce hammer with a straight claw and a rubber grip. The straight claw is very useful for if you are sliding down the roof. You can use that claw. Just slam it into the roof to catch yourself. Believe me Steve knows how to do that from experience. He wouldn’t use anything other than a straight claw. Also make sure your hammer has a rubber grip. You will appreciate it after a full day of hammering your hand will be hurting without that rubber shock absorbing grip. Here’s the link: https://amzn.to/48ios76 The fourth item is an air compressor to run that nail gun. Steve has a Dewalt. Here’s a link: https://amzn.to/3EG9Oc7 To get that nail gun and compressor hooked up you need an air hose. 100 feet works great. Here’s a link: https://amzn.to/3sPicn2
