Year 3 Day 89 – “Living the Dream”. Sunday, 7/30/2023. Last night we watched real TV with commercials. I have not seen commercials in years. They actually were enjoyable. Walmart has great advertisements. They made me want to shop there and I am not a Walmart lover. Jersey Mike’s commercial was eye catching with Danny DeVito. I also want to buy the Swifter mop now. There were lots of pretty flowers in the rest areas on the drive from West Virginia to Pennsylvania.

The drive is pretty but boring and I have to entertain myself.

Then I see the sign I love!!

Met up with family and had a great day at the Shank Park pavilion in Hershey, PA. Shank Park is a great place for a family reunion get together.

For us the weather was perfect, and the playground was right next to the Pavilion. The kids ran around and played while the adults hang out and reconnected. The older children just naturally watched the younger children. This was the perfect place to reconnect. This family reunion is building unity and creating traditions.

There was a nice grassy area that was perfect for the background of our pictures. Much better than prior years where it was the whiteboard in a conference room. The Est. date is the year our parents were married!

Of course, we forgot the Tremper family chalkboard sign for our picture. Steve had had enough of pictures by that time. Yikes – look at my hair!!

My brother came for the first time to an Ortega Family Reunion. It is funny because he is the only one that actually has the Ortega name now. My sister Mary was unable to attend and has not attended one of our reunions yet.

Look in the youngest generation there is no Ortega.

This is Steve and I and our heirs! Koral could not attend this year.

Then my brother Manuel and his family!

This is the next generation. My children and my sibling’s children. Second picture is them with their spouses. The rest of the pictures are each couple with their families. We are missing the other Bowersox families (John, Ann, John, Kim, Breanna, Clayton, Conner and Emery). They were unable to attend this year.

This is currently the last generation on the tree family!

In the evening the kids swam in the pool at the Hilton Garden Inn. This hotel is okay, but it does have some issues with amenities not being in the rooms. I think they have an employee issue, like not enough employees or for that matter not enough towels. The employees were very pleasant and tried hard to please though.

The birds in the trees outside the hotel were very cool. The hotel sits by itself surrounded by trees on top of a small hill. Nice location and very close to Hershey Park.

Nice to sit outside and ponder these thoughts!

Today’s product recommendations are for keeping your skin looking its best at sea and in the sun. My favorite skin care products are made by Elemis. Although I do sometimes try a new product here and there. I actually find myself going back to Elemis. 1) I start my morning in the shower with a face wash. Currently I am using ELEMIS Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Wash https://amzn.to/3qZkwqC 2) After showering I am currently using ELEMIS Superfood Facial Oil https://amzn.to/3XvfUVu 3) Then the Elemis Pro-Collagen Maine Cream with spf30 gets applied. It is the best. It costs a little more than the drug store creams but wow it works. Whenever I decide I want to buy another less expensive brand I am sorry and head right back to this cream. https://amzn.to/46sJZsH 4) Steve also uses an Elemis product. He tends to break out when he uses sunscreen often. He finds the ELEMIS Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Pads excellent to use. It cleans that sunscreen out of his pores. When he uses these pads to cleanse his face he does not break out. https://amzn.to/3px1oQn
