Living the Dream Year 3 Day 69 – Clifty Hill 2 – Footings poured

Year 3 Day 69 – “Living the Dream”. Monday, 7/10/2023. Clifty Hill 2 – The footings are poured. We ordered 15 yards and used 14. Please ignore me talking about 15,000 yards in the attached videos. Yikes, the stupid things that come out of my mouth. You pay for concrete before it is delivered. The cost was $2,501.60. The truck left with 1 yard on it. You do pay for whatever you order. It is very hard to estimate, and you want to have enough. The extra concrete left on the truck is taken back to the yard and used at the yard to make 2x2x6 concrete blocks. People buy these blocks for retaining walls and also SRM uses them to build dividers in their yards for gravel and other piles of materials. There are three drivers that work out of Somerset SRM location. We had a father and son deliver today. The son was the first truck driver and the father the second. The third driver is a brother of the father. It’s a family affair. They were headed to Danville after our job. Justin assisted with the footings. The first truck arrived at 9am and everything was finished and cleaned up by 10:45am. A Mason probably would have charged at least $1,400.00 for his labor.

We are almost out of the ground now. The blocks are being delivered on Wednesday. After Justin left, Steve worked on digging out one of the septic laterals. He dug a six-foot wide, ninety foot long, 18-inch trench. He then filled it with 12 inches of the 11/2-to-2-inch clean stone. You can’t leave a septic trench empty without adding the stone. If it rains while empty the trench will no longer absorb septic water. It was a long hard day.

Today’s product recommendations are for keeping your skin looking its best at sea and in the sun. My favorite skin care products are made by Elemis. Although I do sometimes try a new product here and there. I actually find myself going back to Elemis. 1) I start my morning in the shower with a face wash. Currently I am using ELEMIS Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Wash https://amzn.to/3qZkwqC 2) After showering I am currently using ELEMIS Superfood Facial Oil https://amzn.to/3XvfUVu 3) Then the Elemis Pro-Collagen Maine Cream with spf30 gets applied. It is the best. It costs a little more than the drug store creams but wow it works. Whenever I decide I want to buy another less expensive brand I am sorry and head right back to this cream. https://amzn.to/46sJZsH 4) Steve also uses an Elemis product. He tends to break out when he uses sunscreen often. He finds the ELEMIS Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Pads excellent to use. It cleans that sunscreen out of his pores. When he uses these pads to cleanse his face he does not break out. https://amzn.to/3px1oQn
