24.5 tons of Dense Graded Aggregate Base stone for the driveway and two loads of 1 1/2 – 2-inch clean stone for the septic bed were delivered. Stone prices are a lot higher for this house. On 9/18/2022 the Dense pack cost $10.85 a ton. Today 6/29/2024 that same stone is $11.85 a ton. The Clean stone was $11.00 a ton 8/19/2022 and today 6/29/2023 it is $12.00 a ton. The delivery charge has not changed and is the same price of $100.00 a load.
We got a price from Lumber King on eight-inch block. The price was fourteen cents more a block than Lowes. I asked if the price was negotiable. Apparently Lumber King sells light weight block and Lowes sells Heavy weight block. Light weight blocks are more expensive. That’s funny Steve thought he was getting stronger with the building of our house. Well to me they are all heavy.
It started to rain heavy at lunch time, so we picked up the septic and drainage pipes.
We can smell the Canadian fire smoke today. Yuk!! The neighbor’s dog is going to be the worksite supervisor on Clifty Hill 2.
