Year 3 Day 30 – “Living the Dream”. Thursday, 6/01/2023. In the morning the Lower-level trim was almost completely painted. Only the two doors need another coat.
I headed to do errands while Steve worked on the painting.
We picked up carpet and padding from Lowe’s in the afternoon. Of course, it hasn’t rained at all for a week. Weather.com says zero percent chance of rain. We get to Lowes at 12:45pm. No one is available to cut carpet. They were all at lunch. Then the machine was off track that measures and cuts the carpet. We finally left there at 3:30pm. While we are loading the truck, Steve looks up towards Science Hill and says, “You have got to be kidding me. You told me no rain. LOOK at those clouds”. Yes, that delay in Lowes was all about waiting for the storm to arrive. There is a huge storm approaching and we drove through the pouring rain to get home. Funny thing is the last time we got carpet for the upper-level bedrooms the same thing happened. If you need rain, call us to go get carpet.
We drove straight under that cloud into the pouring rain. Justin came by to help carry it in. There were two really heavy rolls. By the time we got home, and Justin arrived it was sunny. Go figure that out. Sitting on the front porch with Justin, after the carpet was carried in, we watched this huge snapping turtle walk across the farmers field heading to our house. At first, we thought it was a cat. We talked for a while and the turtle disappeared somewhere. How can that happen turtles are slow. I know it is going to be in our yard tomorrow as long as it makes it across the road. All the local animals tend to head to our house. Why?
