Year 2 Day 297 – “Living the Dream”. Sunday, 2/19/2023. I was up at 5am and on the treadmill and Steve was working on cutting and putting the last five pieces of foyer tile down. It took 1.5 hours to put down those last five pieces. The tile is all down now in the foyer. Those last few pieces were difficult cuts.

I have been working on trying to keep all of this information on my website. https://deestimes.com/ I am so far behind. I started this website when I retired. I felt as though I would have lots of time. Well, that fell far from true. There is never enough days or time in the day. I was also hoping that my writings would keep me sane, entertain other people, educate people on cruising, and maybe make a little income. Okay some of those things are true, but it is work. Yes, crazy but work and dedication. So that is my current goal to get my blog up to date and cleaned up. We headed to Lowes in the afternoon and picked up corner bead for the lower level and returned some extra tile. Then we stopped at the grocery store for a few things. It is so amazing the crazy way prices of food are increasing. As Steve and I are talking about it. People start discussing it on Facebook. So of course, I am curious on this subject. This is an interesting article about those inflation rates since 1968. There are some really good illustrative charts. https://www.usinflationcalculator.com/…/food-inflation…/ I looked at the year over year calendar increase percentage averages and found 1973 at 13.2%, 1974 at 13.7%, 1978 at 9.7%, and 2022 at 9.9%. Those are all the years over 9%. I then looked at January and found 1974 at 18.1%, 1975 at 11.2%, and 1981 at 10% and 2023 at 10.1%. Those are the January’s over 10%. I am just observing but look at the 30-year span since food has increased this much.

It is the windiest day ever here. Yesterday, I washed two placemats and Steve set them on the outside table. Today he says, “did you bring those placemats in?”. Uh no. They are nowhere to be found today.

Today’s product recommendation is for the Rev-A-Shelf. I love this for my pots, pans and lids. The one we recently installed is the 21 inches with a spot on the top shelf for the lids. We will also be installing a smaller one for baking dishes. These are awesome. https://amzn.to/3CzOwwq https://amzn.to/3ZcBuyq
