Year 2 Day 288 – “Living the Dream”. Friday, 2/10/2023. Day 6 of 7-night MSC Meraviglia Caribbean cruise. We are docked in Cozumel, Mexico this morning. Cozumel is the largest island in the Yucatan peninsula, it receives over 3 million cruisers. Punta Langosta, International pier, and Puerto Maya are the three main Cozumel cruise ports on the island.

I read this online today ” A single cruise vessel in Cozumel (with max passenger capacity 3000 plus max crew 500) generates on average spending USD 313,740 (passengers) and USD 31,740 (crew), plus nearly USD 29,000 in port fees. This results in total contribution to the local economy of USD 374,480 – and this is per ship.” WOW!!! Our ship has 18 lines holding it to this dock. 9 forward and 9 aft.

We are here from 8am till 5pm. The pilot boarded our ship at 7am to bring us into dock. A nice warm temperature today of 78 to 81. We are sharing the International Pier with RCL Allure of the Seas.

The next port, Puerta Maya Cruise terminal has the Carnival Glory, and the Ruby Princess docked.

Also, from our balcony I can see the Norwegian Breakaway in the distance docked up town.

This is one of those ports where they have dogs sniff your backpacks and all food must be removed.

They also open and shake your water bottles when entering the pier to come back to the ship. Margaritaville is right there as you enter the port. Alot of cruise ports have Margaritaville’s.

We spent some time wandering through the shops and taking pictures. Yes, there is a Diamond International here also. The port has a Mexican Mariachi band performing as entertainment today.

It is not a pleasant experience walking through the Shopping markets because everyone is trying to get you to come into their shop. We got back on the ship for a late lunch at the Marketplace Restaurant and spent the afternoon by the pool. Love the pizza on MSC cruise ships.

Look at the Ropes course that sits 200 feet above the water at the back of the MSC Meraviglia.

We booked this show for tonight. The cost was $18.00 a person which includes a drink. “HOUSE OF HOUDINI – available on MSC Meraviglia from May 2022. Imagine a celebration of some of the most imaginative and wonderous illusions and magic of the world’s greatest Harry Houdini. The show features contemporary music choices, elaborate costumes, amazing props and an international cast of performers who sing, dance and spring into life across one of the most technically advanced theatres in the world The MSC Carousel Lounge.”
Today’s product recommendation is for the Rev-A-Shelf. I love this for my pots, pans and lids. The one we recently installed is the 21 inches with a spot on the top shelf for the lids. We will also be installing a smaller one for baking dishes. These are awesome. https://amzn.to/3CzOwwq https://amzn.to/3ZcBuyq
