Year 2 – Day 227, Sunday, December 11, 2022. I have gotten so much taller since the hardwood is down. It is unbelievable how much higher I can reach in the cabinets. 3/4″ feels like a lot. It is also amazing that you have to put your ear to the dishwasher now to hear it run with the hardwood down and the front panel on. This is the quietest dishwasher we have ever had.
We put our tree up today. Amazing we had to sweep up needles from an artificial tree.
I have a question for everyone. We have noticed that Walmart stores everywhere are using tractor trailer containers in their parking lots as storage. Our local Walmart must have at least twenty of them. How do they get away with that. They have a huge amount of storage space that they are not paying property tax on. It does not seem right.
We measured and measured to see what the perfect size couch would be. The sitting area has a very small wall area with lots of doorways and a closet. It also is the walkway to the kitchen and the stairs going to the upper level. Well, we found the perfect one and went out and bought it today.
It was very cloudy, but weather.com said one percent chance of rain. Of course, on the way home with the couch it starts to drizzle. Justin was away working so could not assist with carrying the couch in until later in the evening. Our neighbor, Brandon came right over to help Steve. We are so fortunate to have such great neighbors. There was no way we were getting that couch in the house without help. We spent the afternoon decorating our tree. We bought a new artificial tree last year and never opened the box. When we opened the box, we thought it looked pretty junky. After we put it together and fluffed it up, we realized it is the nicest artificial tree we have ever had.
The house is now starting to look like a home. The counter stools have been assembled,
and we have a couch. Tonight, is the first night in two years that we have sat on our own couch in our own home. Awwwwwwe nice!!! Loving this room with the tree decorated and the window candles setting the mood. The design is coming together nicely.
