Year 2 – Day 204, Friday, November 18, 2022. The Lowes delivery truck broke down yesterday and the hardwood flooring wasn’t delivered. The next available time for delivery is December 1, 2022. We elected to go pick it up in Danville, KY instead. It was a nice sunny day to go for a ride. Warm and sunny in the truck, but cold outside.
We left our house around 1pm and didn’t get home with the flooring until 4pm. Lowes took forever to get the pallet of flooring on the forklift and bring it out to the truck. The 29 boxes of oak flooring weighed a little over 2,200 pounds. It filled the eight-foot truck bed up over the rear window. We drove home slowly since if we had an accident, it would hit us in the head. I told Steve if he hit the brakes to duck.
Justin came over and helped carry the boxes into the house. I was the automatic door opener as they carried the boxes in the house. Each box weighs 76 pounds. They placed the boxes in six different stacks over joists to distribute the weight around.
In the morning Steve finished the foyer ceiling and put the chandelier together. We bought the candelabra base bulbs for it while at Lowes. Funny, we bought this light fixture so long ago that we forgot what it looked like. I am happy I still love it.
