Living the Dream Day 345

Day 345 – “Living the Dream”. Sunday, 4/10/2022. It is so nice to go up to the new house in the morning. The water froze to the cabin last night. Steve turned on the propane heater in the new house and it was so nice and warm to use the bathroom. We headed for breakfast, Walmart, and Lowes. We go to Lowes around 9:30 where I checked on the delivery status of our cooktop. It was supposed to be delivered today, but no call was received last night. They had that bogus number again. There is a phone number for me that keeps coming up on Lowes orders. It is not mine and no one can get it out of the Lowes system. The appliance center then tells me that the cooktop was loaded and is out for delivery and we are third on the list. So, we paid quickly and headed home. Got home at 10:15 and the truck arrived at 10:30. We have the last piece to our kitchen now.

Just waiting for the granite. Expected delivery date is May 15th for the granite. The first of many loads of laundry was started this morning and we finished it off late afternoon.

The acetylene torch worked quick and easy for brazing the heat pump fittings. Steve did the last brazing and redid the other three fittings in less than 15 minutes. Actelyne gets so much hotter than the map gas. So now we have a new tool.

Steve is now working towards getting all the electric ready for our final inspection. Currently the paperwork for our 60-day temporary electric says it is not for occupancy. So, we can’t live in the home. We take our showers and put all our stuff into containers and make sure there is no evidence of occupancy. So, all who questioned shorties’ capabilities of reaching the dryer, look at the below pics. In flat flip flops, I can’t reach the button. On my tip toes, I can reach the button, but can’t see what the setting is. But standing on my handy little foldable Rubbermaid stool, I can do it.

Funny story, that stool was a Christmas present from Steve about 25 years ago. It gets a workout and is moved to every room of the house daily. If you are short, I highly recommend one. It is light, easy to store, and easy to open and close. We cleaned up and organized the house today. It was getting out of control with tools all over. Steve moved the interior doors to the floor they are going to be installed on. He then spent time watching videos on how to release the heat pump refrigerant into the system. He says he learned a lot and is ready to go with it.

Today’s product recommendations are for finishing a bathroom. The LED antifog back lit mirror is so nice. Also, new bathrooms need new towels. And look at this great light for over your mirror if you don’t do the LED mirror. I can spend all day just looking at Amazon. https://amzn.to/3CzOwwq https://amzn.to/3xqqxN9 https://amzn.to/3KbqdcS
