Living the Dream – Year 2, Day 106

“Living the Dream” -Year 2, Day 106, Friday, August 12, 2022. Two loads of 1 1/2 inch to two-inch of clean large stone was delivered today.

The two distribution boxes and connected pipes were installed after the trench was dug. We wanted to keep the Mimosa tree. The trench with the distribution boxes runs down alongside that tree.

All through the process the pipes must be kept level, so the process involves constant measuring with the transit. The wastewater should flow level through the pipes so there is even distribution through the total system.

The first lateral was also dug.

It is a breezy gorgeous day in the 70’s. Overnight it is going to be in the 50’s. The sweat bees are back. They really bite. I probably should not be wearing a skirt and flip flops helping in the trench. The bees are just swarming around the newly dug up dirt. After the first trench was dug and it was the proper depth. Steve loaded the truck with stone to bring over to the trench.

He worked a long and hard day. I worked on unpacking some boxes and repotted our new plants. I definitely had an easier day. The most I did outside was assist by holding the six-foot measuring stick. The modern way to measure is with a laser level. When a laser level is used one person can do the measuring by themself.

We can breathe easier already.

Today’s product recommendations are:

  1. Rosemary plants that are definitely for eating. I use a lot of Rosemary. You have to try baking small red potatoes with some olive oil, rosemary, and garlic. So good my mouth is watering and all natural and healthy.

2) An extra-large sun hat is a must for working outside in the yard.

3) Marking paint – This paint is a must for marking out things in your yard. Like garden area, fencing area, play area, etc. etc. etc. The list is endless. Just turn the can upside down and spray as you walk.
