Living the Dream – Day 290 – Day 2 of 11 (Sea Day) on MSC  Divina

2/14/2022 – Happy Valentines day from the MSC Divina.

Today is a sea day and we are exploring the ship.  The pool deck is really nice.

They delivered a small plate of yummy candies to our room for Valentines day. That was so sweet.

I am officially naming the MSC Divina “The Ship of Mirrors. I have never been on a ship with so many mirrors and they are so clean. If you aren’t careful you walk into them. In fact Steve did it. You think it’s a hallway and oops it’s a mirrorred wall.

Along with the mirtors there are a lot of naked very limber statues of women.

If you have been on any MSC cruise you will love the elegance of the  Swarovski crystal staircases in the atrium.

Since MSC is an Italian Cruise line cruising in the United States a large portion of the signs and announcements are in at least four languages ( English,  Italian, German, and Spanish)

If anyone knows me, I love love love pizza and MSC has the most fantastic pizza. I think it may be the best I have ever had.   I will have to try those mini calzones another day.

We are really satisfied with our room and our cabin steward is the best. Here’s a video of our room.

I went to the salon today. My hair needed some care. I was starting to look like a mountain woman. The salon is fantastic. This is the first time I ever had my hair done on an MSC cruise ship.  I think they did a great job and would highly recommend the salon.

Due to covid all employees are not allowed off the ship for their whole contract. The hair stylist’s contract is nine months. All employees are also covid tested every other day or so and temperature tested everyday. We are also temperature tested before breakfast everyday. I told the woman taking my temperature this morning that I was nervous. She says ” Don’t worry if you have a temperature we will send you to medical” . Oh yea that made me feel good. All these precautions for covid, but yet at dinner time they crowd everyone into one side of the dining room on top of each other. We may not go back to the dining room but find a spot away from people in the Calumet buffet on deck 14 in the evenings.   We had breakfast and lunch in the buffet .  It is really nice and that is where the fabulous pizza is.

There were some really nice red flower napkins flower decorations set up in the Buffet.

The poolside/hot tub showers are really nice. They are very clean and easy to use.

We had before dinner cocktails in the Plaza del Doge, deck 6 mid ship.  Really nice area with little round tables and chairs.  There are little twinkling lights all over the ceiling.  It reminds me of being outside in an Italian plaza at night.

Tonight is elegant night, which is so cool since I had my hair done today on the ship.  The salon is wonderful.  One of our table mates took our picture at dinner.  The professional photographers came around also.

The after dinner desserts look fantastic and I am told they are very very good.  Look at this cheesecake drizzled with chocolate.  The presentation is awesome

There is nothing like a beautiful night at sea walking outside around pool deck fourteen.  There is nice music playing and a lovely heart on the screen.  Just a perfect night.

Tomorrow we are in Jamaica. It is very strict what you can do off the ship unless you are on an MSC excursion. We have been told to carry our passports and our covid vaccination cards. We also cannot leave the fenced in port area unless we use desinated taxis and go to a few designated areas. There are only a few areas you can go. We may just stay on the ship. Also from the home front the animals are still roaming. Look at the video below. I have no idea what that animal is.

Today’s product recommendations are traveling essentials.                                1) Luggage hand cart – we love this cart for easy rolling for easy cruise carry on bags.  Even when you can’t go to your room right away this is so easy to walk around the ship with.  Here’s the link https://amzn.to/3s37EOw

2) This large toiletry bag is the best.  Steve has the black and I have the pink.  We both absolutely love them.  Here’s the link https://amzn.to/3v1p6ok and picture
