Living the Dream Day 136

Today was a great day here at the compound. More siding and shutters are up.

Steve loves clamps and uses them for everything. They are using a clamp and string to move the siding pieces up. This way one person is up on the ladder measuring and one is cutting and sending up the cut pieces using the string and a clamp.

Reina and Spencer stopped by for lunch and to check out the progress.

The wildlife situation keeps changing. No more sweat bees, but we are overrun with birds and honeybees now. There are thousands of birds in the corn fields. They are very vocal and loud. Justin said they are European starlings.

I emptied the dead bees and flies from one of the bee traps and refilled with apple juice. OMG, the trap started filling up with honeybees and there were hundreds of them swarming around the back porch. We don’t want to kill honeybees. We had to dump the juice and wash down everything to make them go away.

One of the nighttime cats has decided to hang out in the daytime now. We don’t want to adopt a feral cat. We keep chasing it away. Although, it will keep the mice population down as long as it stays hungry.

We are setting up the house so that a one car garage can be easily added to the front right-hand side in the spring. Steve really wants to put a large, detached garage also with a car lift. I am not interested in that at all.

Had to add some pictures of bugs. As you know I hate bugs. I think the caterpillar thing is poisonous.

Here’s a picture of the house from our closest neighbor. The kids were just dropped off by the school bus. That bus doesn’t go down the huge guardrail less hill. It goes by our house, turns around, comes back by our house, and then goes around the block to get down to the highway. Actually, I don’t drive down that hill either. Steve does though. I spend the extra five minutes and go around the block. It is much safer.

Today’s product recommendations are for keeping aware of your surroundings: 1) Love this indoor-outdoor thermometer, and 2) We own and love this five camera Blink Outdoor camera system with the Echo Show. Here’s the links to these products:
