Living the Dream Day 111

This dream is rain, mud, sun, bugs and humidity. Flies are back again. The good part is the fly trap in the tree is catching them. There are also a ton of larger bugs getting in the fly trap. Better in there then on me or in my cabin. Although, I have to say swatting flies is similar to shooting fish in a barrel. You get one every time.

Look at these two crazy fly trap videos. The fly is riding on the big bugs back. These traps are really gross, but fascinating also.

Steve has taken to wearing gloves every time he touches the fiberglass ladders. They really irritate his skin. He says, “Carpenters don’t use fiberglass ladders. They are electricians ladders”. New aluminum extension ladder will be in next week.

Today started out cloudy, then poured, then cloudy, then poured, and then super hot and sunny after they gave up on roofing. As much as they hate being on that steep roof, I hate them up there as well. I can’t relax when they are up there with all their planks, and roof brackets. It was pouring at lunch time and I was able to convince Steve that it was too dangerous to continue with the roofing today. He was very hard to convince though. He tried saying we should bring the air mattress out and lay it on the ground. Just deflate it a little so I don’t bounce he said. That will catch me. This is the MAN that always says safety first. What happened?

But after lunch they decided they could put the windows in. Trying to stop the water from getting into the house.

Normally, you don’t put the windows in before your roof is done. But that has been when we have used wood windows. Since we are installing vinyl windows we are good with putting them in now.

A lot of the windows have ripped screens. So the purchasing agent aka me has to work with Lowes to get new ones.

My job is to pick up the garbage laying in the mud after they are done. I have to stay clear of the house while they work. My flip flops weigh about five times their normal weight when done.

Eating at the Bistro tonight. Homemade succotash, chicken, and macaroni and cheese for dinner.

Today’s product recommendations are for keeping aware of your surroundings: 1) Love this indoor outdoor thermometer, and 2) We own and love this five camera Blink Outdoor camera system with the Echo Show. Here’s the links to these products:
