It is a beautiful 62 degrees and a great day to work on the house sill.

We are up early and starting the day with big smiles. So ready to work with the first wood.

The wood is uncovered and the pieces needed for the sill are pulled out.

First the sill sealer is placed down. This is something I can actually carry, unlike those cement blocks.

Then two 2X6’s are bolted and nailed to the foundation.

The basement is five feet of block and 4 feet of wood. The basement windows are in the wood and block.

While I cooked dinner, Steve carried buckets of stone from the pile in front of the house and covered the side drainage pipes.

Ended the day with Patty Melt’s and fresh green beans. A lot of work was accomplished today. We are energized and very happy.

A short ride around the neighborhood and you find not to many houses, but lots of corn fields.
