Serenade of the Seas Day 6 of 12 – Cartagena, Colombia

Saturday, March 7, 2020

Cartagena, Colombia “The white city” . Didn’t expect such large buildings.

Docked by the Shipping Containers

Today’s tour

Martin is our driver today

Heavy city traffic with lots of motorcycles.

Stopped at the Castillo San Felipe Fortress for a short time just for pictures or a quick walk around.

Got off the bus and we were attacked. The vendors were so aggressive and in your face that you couldn’t get very far from the bus. Never even got close to the pathway up to the fortress.

New buses have been deployed all over the city in the last 2 years.

Headed to the old city for our carriage ride.

Lovely balconies

The unemployment rate is 10 percent and everyone is trying to make some money.

“Colombia fashion” have to love it

Never been to a place where the vendors are like this. They are running along side of the carriage trying to sell us stuff. I do love my new hat though.

Look at this little boy with the carriage driver behind us. He is loving his ice cream cone. So sweet!

There is always a Hard Rock Café.

This is the main church in town. There is a service everyday. The population is 70% catholic

We headed to the new part of the city. This is the most expensive part of Cartagena to live across from the water.

This is a very cool Catholic church in the wealthy area of Cartagena. Love the design.

Lovely water front area

Went back to our room and sat on the balcony and was entertained by people chasing their hats as they boarded the Pullmantur Monarch. Those Colombia hats do not stay on in the wind.

Good night from Colombia
