Another beautiful day in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I love this port, but don’t like getting here late in the afternoon.
It is so beautiful and awesome coming into the area.
Then the pilot boat pulls up. No matter how many times you pull into a port, it is exciting to watch the pilot boat and the action in the bridge wing.
Getting closer.

At every port there is at least one ambulance waiting for the ship to pull in. Here in Puerto Rico there are two today. It is sad to see families getting off the boat, due to a loved one being sick or deceased.

Another fun thing to do is check out other cruise ships. The Carnival Fascination is already docked. It is almost unbelievable that these ships float and contain thousand of passengers.

We are getting more fuel today. Not sure how much fuel is used per day on this ship, but it is a staggering amount I am sure. I have read that cruise ships can use 30 to 50 gallons per mile.
Puerto Rico is a good stop to easily and quickly get off and buy items you need. There is a walgreens across the street. We always buy some bottles of water for our room there. This time was no different.

There were many new employees boarding today and they had a k9 unit sniffing everything.
This was a first for us in any port. We have never been sniffed by a dog to get back on a cruise ship.

Even our water was sniffed and labeled with a K9 inspected sticker.
I also saw many motorized scooters with that sticker attached.
