Year 5, Day 102, “Living the Dream”. Sunday, 8/10/2025 DAY 25 of 29 day Florida, Caribbean, SeaWorld and Disney World trip. – Day 8 of 7 night Western Caribbean Cruise on MSC Seashore – Day 1 of 3 night Disney World Wilderness Lodge. Off the Seashore and in Magic Kingdom by 10am. Goodbye Seashore.

We met up with Jenna, Jamie, Julianna, Jacob, and Joshua at the Wilderness Lodge. We will be spending three nights there. This is my birthday surprise celebration from Jenna and Jamie. Thank you so much. Look at my Mickey ears and pin. Jenna’s family had a bet going if I would wear the ears or not. We haven’t been to Disney World in years. Steve says I am going to be spoiled and will want to start vacationing here again. We headed to Magic Kingdom. It was not very crowded at all and the weather was good. We went on more rides than I thought we would in a few hours. The only one I wouldn’t do was Space Mountain. I waited it out talking to a woman about traveling. We probably have not been here in 15 years. Oh no I am starting to like it.

In a few hours I have been told Happy Birthday about 30 times. Ugg that pin Jenna bought. Later we checked into our room at the Disney Wilderness Lodge. Nice room, video will come before we check out.

We cleaned up and rode the boat to the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. Good show. Food okay. Thank you Jenna and Jamie. Hey the woman would not tell the room my real age. I must be toooo old.

Before I forget here is a review of our

7 night Western Caribbean Cruise on the MSC Seashore.

Balcony room 10021

  • Pros
  1. Clean
  2. Bright
  3. Robes provided for Diamond
  4. Quiet and relaxing room
  5. Most comfortable bed of our whole 29 day vacation
  6. We thought there was a smell coming up from sink. We mentioned it and kept the sink drain closed. They couldn’t seem to find where it is coming from to fix it. Then they found a sewage pipe was clogged. They unclogged it and the smell is gone.
  7. Liquid soap at bathroom sink.
  • Cons
  1. Balcony has solid railing so when you sit down you can’t see anything

2. Shower is super tiny

3. Yucky stain on the comforter. Pretty gross. I noticed it was changed a day two. The cabin attendant must have noticed the stain.

4. Robe in room had ripped up belt.

Food

  • Pros
  1. The Marketplace buffet is huge

2. Food in buffet has a tremendous variety

3. Buffet is clean and arranged really nice.

4. The ordered vegetable omelette in the buffet was heavenly.

5. Pizza outrageously good.

6. Coffee wonderful

7. Ice cream cones are larger and taste much better than Royal Caribbean.

8. Your plates are picked up and tables cleaned quickly in the Marketplace buffet.

9. The macaroons are the best on this ship

10. Dining room served birthday cake without even being asked.

  • Cons
  1. They had a gluten free station, but everyone was handling the utensils. They should serve at that station to avoid cross contamination

2. No one ever said wash or sanitize your hands.

3. Dining room servers are confused a lot and would forget your drinks and bring incorrect desserts.

4. Dining room Filet Mignon was really tough.

5. Asparagus was stringy and you could not chew it

Casino

  1. Clean and not smoky. Hey we came out ahead and played longer for the money we put in than Royal Caribbean

General

  • Pro
  1. Unbelievable smiling happy employees everywhere. No one was grumpy. These guys have the attitude
  • Con
  1. Ship has plumbing problems. Leaks and smells in different places.

2. MSC crew badges do not say where they are from like Royal does.

3. No day in the MSC elevator floor like Royal has.

Ocean Cay

  1. Lovely nice quiet beach

Things to ponder today! Have to leave you thinking.

Here’s a link to today’s Amazon recommendation: https://amzn.to/4n2FyMO Glass Cutting Boards for Kitchen, 2Pcs Chopping Board: I am throwing out all my plastic cutting boards and going with glass. The thought of eating more plastic has made me change. Glass boards are non-porous and highly durable. They offer a smooth, hard surface that resists stains and odors. I have heard they are hard on your knives though.
